Caversham Open Studios 2009.

With 15 venues and 27 artists exhibiting at this year’s Caversham Open Studios promises an even more exciting and interesting tour of artist’s studios within the locality of Caversham centre. After last years success, the event on the 5th, 6th & 7th of June 2009 has expanded to present an even more varied showcase of the wealth of local talent, ranging from professional to amateur. Artists have set up a studio to present their work wherever they can, often in interesting and unusual locations. Enjoy this free event, an open house experience which includes: painting, print, sculpture, ceramic, stained glass, photography, video, textiles, jewellery and much, much more. This is an open studio event where artists invite you in to view their work and if you wish, buy or commission a piece of work. Caversham Open Studios is also a chance to be involved, meet local artists or designers some of whom will be showing, explaining and discussing how their work is produced. Extra events this year include a silversmithing demonstration, and poetry reading. Also new this year is the inclusion of work by students at Caversham Primary.

Look out for the red numbered marker spots in your locality. Why not spend a pleasant weekend walking from one venue to another where you will be warmly welcomed by all the participating artists.
